Donlin Gold project
The open-pit gold mine is located in Alaska's Kuskokwim Gold Belt. Donlin Gold LLC, owned by subsidiaries of the company and Canada-based Barrick Gold Corporation, manages and develops the project. NovaGold has a 50 per stake in the Tier 1 gold property. The gold deposit includes 11 mineralized areas with a mine life of 27 years. The mining firm claims the project is poised to be the largest gold producers across the globe.
On July 27, 2018, the company sold its 50 per cent stake in the Galore Creek partnership to Newmont Corporation.
Galore Creek is an underdeveloped copper deposit with a mine life of 18 years. It located in Tahltan Nation in northwest British Columbia, Canada.
Incorporated in 1984, it was formerly known as NovaCan Mining Resources Limited, with its registered office in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
The company rebranded to NovaGold Resources Inc. in 1987. The gold mining company became a Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) listed firm in the same year.
NovaGold claims to focus on safety measures for its employees and contractors and provides skill-enhancement and development programs.
The exploration firm’s stocks trade on TSX and the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker 'NG'.
NovaGold was reportedly awarded by The American Exploration and Mining Association (AEMA) for designing and developing the Donlin Gold Project.
The company said it is well-funded and will reportedly channelize all its resources towards the Donlin Gold project.
The Canadian exploration company reportedly offers support to over 500 students annually under its education program.
