ASX-listed explorer with focus on copper and gold, Cooper Metals Limited (ASX: CPM) has successfully completed initial scout drilling of 14 drill holes over 1,550 metres on five copper-gold prospects at its flagship Mt Isa East Project. The five prospects are Long Slot, Brumby Ridge, Mafic Sweats South, Raven, and Yarraman.
Shares climb over 13%
CPM shares shot up nearly 13% on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) in Tuesday's morning trade session after the company informed about the drilling completion. The company stock was spotted trading at AU$0.130 apiece at the time of writing on 17 October 2023.
Drill samples sent for analysis
The first batch of 294 one-metre samples from Mafic Sweats South and Raven have been submitted for analysis. Also, 344 one-metre samples were sent on 16 October 2023. These samples were collected by the company geologists on the basis of visual inspection of the reverse circulation chips and guided by copper values in the portable XRF machine.
The company is expecting sample results for all drill holes in November.
Going forth, Cooper Metals is planning to complete assay analysis on the samples selected from RC campaign, interpret results, and conduct a follow-up program. Also, diamond drilling assay results at King Solomon are in progress.
