Sony Interactive Entertainment Network Europe Limited has been asked by the Federal Court to pay $3.5 million in fines for creating incorrect & confusing illustrations while trading with Australian customers and on its web site about their Australian Consumer Law rights.
The Court also affirmed Sony violated the Australian Consumer Law by telling 1 out of 4 customer it did not have to provide a reimbursement unless the developer of the game approved it, and by telling a fifth customer that Sony could give a reimbursement using virtual PlayStation currency as an alternative of cash.
