Description

Co-founded in 1998 by David Shelton with the opening of first retail site in Derby, Motorpoint group plc is the is the UK’s largest independent vehicle retailer and is also engaged in selling low- priced nearly- new cars which are up to two years old and have covered maximum 15,000 miles which includes biggest car brands such as Ford, Vauxhall, BMW, Volkswagen, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, and Hyundai.  Between 2001 and 2006 the group expanded its retail sites in Peterborough, Burnley, Newport and Glasgow. The group shares got listed on the London Stock Exchange as LSE: MOTR in 2016.

The group’s Business to business online auction platform, Auction4Cars.com allow and easy, efficient and effective platform for the sale of part-exchange vehicles which do not fall under its nearly new retail criteria. It operates through its 13 retail sites located across UK and are supported by a central contract centre which help customers with their enquiries via telephone and online. It also provides Home Delivery across UK with free collection return within 7 days. It has also launched Reserve & collect platform to make it easy for its customers to reserve a vehicle online and then collect at one of its branches. In 2020, the group opened fully operational South preparation centre within 10 acres of land in Peterborough and successfully launched its 13^th retail site in Swansea which is its first sales-only site.  The group in 2020 was also recognized with Platinum Trust Service rating from Feefo, having been Gold rated for the three prior years and for the sixth consecutive years was awarded with Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies to work for. 

The group’s retail sites are strategically located for ease of access and are within 30 minutes drive, it includes showrooms, light vehicle preparation, storage, valet services and administrative functions as appropriate. Further its online management portal helps customers to easily complete all documentation requirements. The group aims to operate from at least 20 sites in UK in the coming years.
