Globally Local, previously traded on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol BGLY, has rebranded as Odd Burger Corp. as of June 16, 2021. The company now trades on the TSX Venture Exchange market under the symbol ODD.
The company has not just changed its name but its image, website and whole brand. All the locations will also be rebranded as Odd Burger and the new locations will carry the new brand name.
Previously the fast-food company was known as Black Lion Capital Corp. The company was founded in 2014 by James Mclnnes as a vegan organization that distributed organic fruits and vegetables from local farmers to customers.
The company partnered with Vasiliki in 2015 to develop vegan meal kits and experiment with local vegan fast-food eaters. The customers showed overwhelming support to the company’s product and in 2016, Odd Burger took its Famous Burger to the London, Ontario Ribfest where it received massive demand.
The vegan fast-food industry does not have many players and the popularity of this company captured the media’s attention throughout North America. Odd burger soon launched its fast-food truck and brought vegan fast-food to communities in Ontario and expanded its customer base.
The rapidly growing vegan fast-food company launch the first vegan fast-food restaurant in Canada in 2017. The company also launched or 24-hour vegan drive-thru which was the first of its kind in the world.
Odd burger has its own manufacturing center where it produces its food and conducts research and development. The manufacturing center was founded in 2018.
The fast-food company intends to disrupt the industry by providing food made from plant-based sustainable ingredients which are minimally processed and are good for the people and planet, both. The company has developed and is working on advanced automation technology, a locally sourced and vertically integrated supply chain, and large-scale plant-based food manufacturing facilities to fulfill its mission.
The 100 per cent vegan company does not exploit any animals and produces plant-based food, and has fundraised for several vegan charities, farm sanctuaries and social justice movements. Canada Odd Burger will be opening restaurants in three more Canadian locations in addition to its current six locations.
