Today the share price of technology developer Department 13âs took a dive despite the recent announcement on expansion of their worldwide distribution network. The share price of Department 13 International Limited was smashed down 3.226% to $0.060 on 19 September 2018 (6 PM AEST).
This week Maryland-based Department 13 announced the distribution partnership with African aerospace company, Skydrone Technologies. The D13âs aim for this deal is to widen its distribution network worldwide while providing the access of its patented MESMER technology and an award-winning Counter-UAS technology. These highly advanced technical instruments are used in safety and surveillance purposes to provide advanced protection for emerging drone threats as well as counter drone solutions.
Under the agreement, Skydrone will provide South Africaâs customers a direct path for accessing MESMER technology by D13. With the deal, Department 13 has spread their wings in one of the fastest growing markets of the world which is critical in terms of needing protection against the escalating threats from drones.
CEO of Department 13 Jonathan Hunter said Southern Africa is a potential market with fiercely rising threats presented by custom and commercial unmanned aerial vehicle. Department 13âs MESMER is a patented counter drone system. It provides drone mitigation solution which protects the personnel and infrastructure from dangerous drones. It first detects, then identifies and at last mitigates the drones. The uniqueness lies with the manipulation of digital radio protocols to avoid any weakness in the same.
The announcement also revealed that Skydrone along with D13 has participated in the Africa Aerospace and Defense Expo, beginning today. Sponsored by State of Maryland Department of Commerce, the event will continue till September 21st at Air Force Base Waterkloof, South Africa.
Currently, the D13âs stock last traded at $0.060. The stock has seen a performance change of -30.34% over the past one year while in the previous three months the change was -26.19%.
