Established in 1888, Alliance Trust PLC, a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index, is one of the largest and oldest public traded investment company in the UK, with its headquarters in Dundee. The trust offers different investment options to its client including buying and selling shares and offers different portfolio to invest.

The trust’s main objective is to deliver good returns for its clients (investors) from medium to long-term investments, in a combination of capital growth and growing dividends. The trust has its set investment goals, which includes capital growth and a progressive dividend policy. Its equity portfolio’s investment target to is to give high performance in the MSCI (All Country World Index) with a minimum of 2% per annum (net of costs) over rolling three-year period.

The trust focuses on investors of all generation who want to invest in medium to long term with the motive of growing their value, and the trust wants to become a core holding for those investors by delivering performance and value with the same consistency. The trust is owned and run by its shareholders along with Willis Towers Watson (WTW) as its investment manager with aim to outperform world stock markets. In 2016, the trust decided to change its investment approach to a multi-manager approach for improving performance and as a result Willis Towers Watson, a leading investment group was appointed by the Alliance Trust Board as its Alternative Investment Fund Manager (AIFM). The firm has a presence in the US, Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, and the UK.
