The company generally works in partnership to solve the operating hurdles and to provide the customers the resources they need. The Minerals segment provides the slurry handling equipment to its customers and associated aftermarket support for abrasive high-wear applications that are needed for mining operations. The ESCO segment, on the other hand, offers the ground engaging tools (GET) required for surface mining and infrastructure.

The company also offers engineered GET solutions needed for building infrastructure, which includes products for construction, dredging. The company’s products portfolio comprises of pressure pumping and pressure control equipment and aftermarket spares and services. The company provides various services, such as repairing of equipment, tools upgradation, and multiple asset management and field services. The company has multiple brands under its portfolio, which includes Warman, Linatex, Mathena and Gabbioneta.

The company was founded as an engineering firm in 1871 by two brothers, George and James and was named G. & J. Weir. Both the brothers were responsible were many innovations and additions in the pumping equipment, which was important and critical for the development of steam ships.
