Founded in late 2006 to acquire and consolidate UK’s motor retail businesses, Vertu Motors is a UK-based fifth largest automotive retailer that operates network of franchised motor dealerships across the UK. It offers sale, servicing, parts and bodyshop facilities for new, used, and commercial vehicles. Its shares are traded on the Alternative Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange as LON: VTU in 2006.

In 2007, it acquired Bristol Street Motors, which was the 13th largest motor retailer in the UK, since then the group expanded itself organically and through the strategic acquisition.  It operates through its wide range of brand portfolio which include; Bristol Street Motors, Macklin Motors, Vertu Motors, Vertu Motorcycles, ACE Parts, Vans Direct, Car Credit Assured, What Car? Leasing, Vertu Lease Cars, Vertu Group Fleet and The Taxi Centre.

The group has over 150 sales outlets in the 115 locations across the UK and 3 non-franchised operations I England and Scotland, which offers a wide range of products and services such as new cars, vehicle adaption, used cars, commercial vehicles, aftercare, motability, servicing, fleet, MoTs and vans. It works with 32 car, bike, and commercial franchise partners and some of the leading manufacturers such as Volkswagen, Audi, Vauxhall, BMW, Toyota, CUPRA, Suzuki, Citroen, Smart, Dacia, Skoda, DS, SEAT, Ford, Renault, Honda, Peugeot, Hyundai, Jaguar, Nissan, Kia, Mitsubishi, Jeep, Mercedes-Benz, Land Rover and Mazda. 

The group employs more than 5,000 people across the UK.
