Founded in 1964 by Paul Ramsay AO, the company provides healthcare via a global network of research, teaching and clinical practices. The global network is present across ten countries in more than 532 locations. Ramsay’s operates across four regions: Australia – In Australia, the company has 72 private hospitals and day surgery units. The company claims that it is one of the largest private hospital operators in Australia. The operations include mental health facilities and three public facilities. Also, the company operates Ramsay Pharmacy’s retail franchise network. Europe – Ramsay claims that Ramsay Sante is the second biggest private care provider in Europe. The company operates primary care units and specialist clinics in circa 350 locations in Europe. The UK – Ramsay manages a network of 34 acute hospitals in the UK, diagnostic imaging services and offers neurological services. Asia – Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care Sdn Bhd manages three hospitals in Malaysia and three hospitals in Indonesia.
