Founded by Anthony Preston in 1991, Pets at Home is the UK’s leading pet care business that provides everything a pet owner needs from food, grooming, toys, and veterinary care to bedding services. The first store came up at Chester, UK. Since then, the company increased its services and strategically acquired other potential businesses to grow and expand its business. The company employs more than 15,000 workers. In 2014, Pets at Home got listed on the London Stock Exchange.

Pets at Home operates through its three major brands: Pets at Home, Vets4Pets, the Groom Room. It provides a wide range of pet products in one-stop shops, which has a wide store network and omnichannel offer. These stores also provide advices, and online product services. Vets4Pets is the UK’s largest animal veterinary service provider since 2001, its services and facilities include vaccination and routine check-ups, biochemistry, X-Ray, separate ward, and isolation units, emergency services, in-house laboratory, dentistry services, and in-house operating theatre with practices in Pet at Home stores and in standalone locations.

The Groom Room salons offers full pet grooming, baths, microchipping, and nail clipping through many Pets at Home stores.  The Pet at Home has 453 stores, 316 grooming salons across the UK and has more than 6,900 retail colleagues with expert pet knowledge. Accessories contribute 42% of Pet at home total revenue followed by 17% by food, 15% by veterinary, and 10% by grooming. Pets at home VIP loyalty club has 5.6 million active members. The key market drivers for Pets at Home are the stable dog and cat population in the UK, increasing demand for high-quality product and services for pets, growing pet insurance and demand for advance veterinary care and shift towards online.
