It produces a range of patterned profiles and surface finishes for use in residential, commercial, and industrial applications, including exterior siding, trim, soffit lining, internal linings, walls, facades, floors, and tile underlay. James Hardie Industries' (ASX:JHX) current primary geographic markets include North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines. On 2 September 2022, James Hardie (ASX:JHX) appointed Aaron Erter as its chief executive officer (CEO). Erter joins James Hardie after a successful career as a leader in major North American and international manufacturing, consumer goods, and industrial firms. James Hardies has building products in Europe and fibre cement plants in North America, Asia, and the Pacific. The US and Canada market for fibre cement building goods is the residential building sector's use of exterior siding.  The company primarily supplies to the markets of Australia, New Zealand, and the Philippines in the Asia Pacific area, with the residential building sector serving as the main market for fibre cement products. The acquisition of Fermacell, a market leader in fibre-gypsum and cement-bonded boards in Europe, by James Hardie (ASX:JHX) was finalised in April 2018. The company thinks Fermacell's fibre gypsum boards outperform rival gypsum plaster and OSB boards, just like James Hardie's fibre cement products.
