Founded in 2005 as Buddi by Sara Murray OBE to create a GPS device small enough for a child to carry, Big Technologies Plc is engaged in supplying innovative and top products and services to the personal monitoring industry. The first product launched was a small device to track location. The company offers its products and services under a number of brands and trading names. Under the Buddi brand the company develops a leading and integrated technology platform for remote monitoring of individual, offering Electronic Monitoring (EM) solutions on a SaaS-like subscription basis, which are deployed mainly within criminal justice market to monitor and manage people within various parts of the Criminal Justice system.

The criminal justice solution focuses around Buddi Eagle, the in-house developed cloud-based monitoring software and Buddi Smart Tag, an electronic monitoring hardware device and it consist of proprietary software platform with modular monitoring hardware, with various applications. The company’s customer base includes over 100 local authorities and NHS organisations. The company’s shares are traded on the London Stock Exchange since 28 July 2021 as LON: BIG and holds more than 100 government contracts, ranging up to twelve years in length to over 10 years. The company’s technology is used within the mainstream business of 80% of UK police forces.  It further aims to develop technologies for the care market and will shortly be launching innovative solutions to tackle loneliness and allow Care-On-Demand for the first time.
