Meridian Energy Limited (NZX: MEL) is one of the largest companies of New Zealand and is listed both on NZX and Australian Stock Exchange (ASX). The Company produces electricity through renewable sources such as water, wind and sun and therefore is committed towards the sustainability goals. For retailing power, it utilises Powershop brand in Australia and Powershop and Meridian brand in NZ. Besides energy generation and retailing brands, the company owns an energy software company called Flux Federation and Dam Safety Intelligence. New Zealand Government owns a majority stake (51%) in the Company.
