Description

Ashtead group Plc is a British industrial equipment rental company which has its networks in the UK, the US and Canada.  The company was founded in 1947 in a village of Ashtead, Surrey, with tool hire and Ashtead plant. Later, it shifted its headquarters to London, United Kingdom. It was first listed in London Stock Exchange in the year of 1986. Its CEO is Brendan Horgan, Chairperson is Paul Walker and has 4606.5 crores GBP as their revenue. Currently it has around 13233 number of employees working under them. It comes under Industrials sector, industrial services industry and industrial support services sub-divisions. 

The company is able to generate around 80% of its revenue from its subsidiaries and sunbelt rentals. Its subsidiaries are: Ashtead Plant Hire Co Ltd. They are widely known as Sunbelt Rentals, which was formerly known in the name of A-Plant. It has many divisions, which are namely A-Plant, Plant, Bright lights, GB Access, Hoist-It LTD, Leada Acrow, Live Trakway, PSS Hire, Rapid climate control, Tool Hire Express, A-Plant, Rail etc. Its principal market is in the US where it rents its industrial and construction equipment to large number of customers. It gives its customers a wide variety of equipment to choose from.

It follows a well-defined framework of corporate governance and aligns itself with an ethical code of conduct for running its business operations. It has set up separate committees for audit, remuneration and nomination. It has a comprehensive ESG framework in place and fulfils all its environmental and social responsibilities in addition to its corporate responsibilities. It provides equipment that are low in risk and is safe to use and has different health and safety management policies in place.  They recruit around 52 trainees every year and are aiming to setup an apprenticeship academy. The apprenticeship programme would take around one to three years to complete, there would be six apprentices stream namely customer service, civil engineering, electro technical, driver, plant maintenance and mechanical engineering.
