Oil Search Ltd (ASX: OSH) has been the largest oil player operating in Papua New Guinea (PNG) since 1929. The group has an extensive appraisal and exploration portfolio with 29% interest in the PNG LNG Project (operated by ExxonMobil PNG Limited) and this has been a world-class liquefied natural gas (LNG) development. Oil Search has positioned itself well as a long-term, low cost oil and LNG producer. The group also acquired oil interests in the Alaska North Slope in the United States to balance the gas dominated portfolio.
