Its portfolio is diversified across the wide range of markets, industry, market capitalisation and asset class. It holds investment in various locations such as North America, Europe (Except UK), Japan, Emerging markets, the UK and Asia Pacific (except Japan), across a wide range of sectors: Information Technology, Industrials, Health care, Consumer Discretionary, Materials, Real Estate, Financials, Communication services, Consumer staples and Utilities. The company invests in a range of themes such as sustainable consumer, online services, digital banking, automation, low carbon world, building the future, scientific equipment, screen time, energy transition materials and health costs. Its shares are premium listed on the official list and is traded on the main market of the London Stock Exchange as LON: MWY.
The company has no employees and it outsource its investment functions to its investment manager, Artemis Fund Managers Limited. The investment manager seeks for the high quality stocks with strong market position, strong balance sheet and sustainable pricing power. It identifies the number of global trends for long term benefits. It assesses its investment performance with reference to its benchmark, MSCI All Country World Index. To enhance the performance of its portfolio and diversify its risk the company follows its investment policy which includes; any one holding should be maximum 15% of its portfolio at the time of investment, its portfolio should not consist of more than 15% of its gross assets in the UK Quoted investment companies, it can invest in assets other than shares which will be purchased from time to time including but not limited to fixed interest holdings, unlisted securities and derivatives.
It can use derivative instruments for investment purposes or for efficient portfolio management. The portfolio should consist of 40- 140 holdings and it may vary time to time. It can use gearing for enhancing its return and for supporting its investment strategy for up to 30% of its net assets. Further, it seeks to limit the discount of its shares to a maximum of 2% relative to the net asset value per share.
