KiwiBank has slashed its variable koan rates by 100 | NZ Market Update

Travellers from New Zealand can now transit through Singapore's Changi Airport to a growing number of international destinations but there are tight restrictions. Transit through Singapore is one-way (through Changi and beyond rather than back to this country and travelers will be confined to special zones at the airport. Connections must be no longer than 48 hours. Since March Changi had been largely shut to all passengers, including transits, apart from return flights organized by governments.

As per the Stats NZ, between 2007 and 2018, direct greenhouse gas emissions from NZ households increased by 11.8 percent (over one megatonne). Environmental-economic accounts manager Stephen Oakley said NZ household contributed 12 percent of New Zealand’s total emissions in 2018. The number is reaching near to the manufacturing industries’ contribution of 13.2 percent to emissions. Household emissions increase a bit faster than the increase in the number of households as it was up by 11.0 percent over the same period.

Kiwibank has slashed its variable loan rates by 100 basis points in a move it says will save home loan and business banking customers $20 million. The state-owned bank has dropped it floating and offset mortgage home loan rate from 4.4 percent to 3.4 percent and its revolving home loan rate from 4.45 percent to 3.45 percent.
