As per the Stats NZ, low and middle-income groups gained the maximum benefits due to the decrease in petrol prices amid Covid-19 global pandemic.

Consumer prices manager Sarah Johnson said these income group people spend more of their earnings on petrol than the high-income group people.

NZ saw free transportation in many parts of the country and also a significant fall in petrol costs. Lower transport price was the leading contributor for this quarterly drop. Crude oil prices plunged sharply in the global market in March and April.

For the first quarter ended 30 June, 2020 of FY21, Smartpay Holdings Limited (NZX:SPY) registered strong recovery in Australia acquiring revenue from previously advised COVID lows.
