Redeployment of Jobseekers in Hard-Hit Regions by COVID-19

The government is funding NZD 36.72 million to projects in regions economically most impacted by COVID-19. The investment will be a part of the government's NZD 100 million worker redeployment package that was announced in March for giving employment to jobseekers who lost their job during the pandemic.

Apart from ensuring the health of people, the government need to keep NZ businesses going, regional economies afloat and viable and workers in the job, said Economic Development Minister Phil Twyford.
