NZ Government’s Account Stronger than Expected during the Level 4 lockdown

As per the Finance Minister, Grant Robertson, The Government’s accounts moved greater than expected during the Level 4 lockdown, in advance of the economy re-opening with the support of the citizens’ incredible public health efforts.

The accounts also indicated the strong position of the country’s economy going into the international coronavirus pandemic, along with pre-lockdown GST revenue 5.9% higher than projected, showing solid underlying activity for the tax year ended on 31st March.
