Gathering and Distancing Restrictions to Go Away in Level 1

After successfully curbing the spread of the virus and reporting no new cases in 2 weeks, NZ is all set to enter restrictions level 1.

Cabinet meeting on 08 June 2020 is expected to decide when NZ will enter level 1, but it is expected to happen in the mid-next week. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has confirmed that with beginning level 1, all mass gathering restrictions and social distancing rules will go. Still, she also mentioned that the border closure, contact tracing and encouragement towards good hygiene would continue in level 1 as well.
