Corby Spirit and Wine Limited is a Toronto-based company engaged in the manufacturing, marketing and distribution of spirits and wines.
The company’s history dates back to the 1840s and 50s, when founder Henry Corby found an interest in distilling process and worked on developing a brand for local consumption, which was a sideline to his mainstream milling operations. Finally, the distillery business was incorporated in 1859. However, the company rebranded itself with the present name in 2013.
Its unlimited non-voting Class B common shares trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange under ‘CSW.B’ quote. In addition, the Class A unlimited voting common shares are listed under the quote of ‘CSW.A.’.

The majority shares of Corby Spirit and Wine Limited are held by Hiram Walker & Sons Limited, a 100 percent owned subsidiary of Pernod Richard S.A. Both the companies reportedly work closely to produce nearly four million cases of spirits per annum at the Hiram Walker & Sons’ distillery facility in Windsor, Ontario.
The company claims to undertake its manufacturing operations at the Hiram Walker’s facility. With 37 fermenters and fourteen maturing warehouses, the facility distills 180,000 liters of alcohol per day and stores 1.6 billion barrels of spirit, reportedly. The distillery facility blends the spirits and bottles them through four high-speed lines, the alcohol manufacturing company claims.
In addition, it says that the facility has complied with various standards regarding quality, safety and environment, and is certified with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
The alcoholic beverage company claims to earn a majority of its revenue through sale of spirit and wine products to liquor boards, private retailers, bars and restaurants based in Canada. In addition, it also distributes and exports the alcoholic beverages across Europe, the United States, and rest of the world.
