Description
Saint Jean Carbon Inc., earlier known as Torch River Resources, is a junior mining firm specializing in carbon science and battery technologies to support the metal and mining industry. The firm was formed in March 2004 according to the provincial laws of Alberta and also under additional Canadian provinces, namely, Manitoba, British Columbia, Quebec and Saskatchewan.
Saint Jean Carbon Inc. trades its stock on the Toronto Stock Exchange Venture under the quote SJL. The Calgary-based company is engaged in the identification, acquisition, and development of mineral projects that are potentially economical in nature.
The company further leverages mineral feeds to design, engineer and manufacture carbon-efficient battery technologies like lithium-ion battery anodes and solar panel cells. Thus, it does business under two operating divisions, namely:
• Exploration and development of mineral projects
• Research and development, which take on the scientific studies and tech applications for graphite and graphene
The company, through its 100 per cent owned subsidiary Solid Ultrabattery Inc., is in the process of developing resource projects and advanced battery technologies for mass adaptation. Saint Jean has already started with designing and developing prototype batteries for initial tests.
The company is also planning to install a battery production facility to transform these technologies into viable product offerings. The company’s product offerings include the following:
• Air classifier – The company leveraged computational fluid dynamics to optimize the air classification process.
• Anode material – The company can market, and supply finished and semi-finished anode materials in small volumes and in multiple packaging varieties.
The company earns additional incidental revenue by processing raw materials via its mill facility. Saint Jean, in September 2021, successfully completed the 3D printing prototype version of its proprietary air classifier. The company started advancing its provisional solid state battery patents to the national level in the United States, Canada and Europe to ensure the protection of its intellectual property across major global markets.
