The S&P/ASX200 is lower today, dropping 23.50 points or 0.33 per cent to 7 thousand 138.10 after setting a new 52-week high. The bottom performing stocks in this index are NEARMAP down 3.62 per cent and BLACKMORES, down 3.53 per cent respectively. Over the last five days, the index has gained 0.32 per cent and is currently 0.91 per cent off of its 52-week high.
The global markets traded higher on Monday, firmly posted a fourth straight month of gains, while the dollar struggled broadly ahead of European and US data this week that will help to gauge the pace of global economic recovery. The most active July copper contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange closed 0.9 per cent up at 73,950 yuan per tonne, registering a 2.1 per cent monthly gain.
