Denmark is planning to cull up to almost 17 million mink, Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen announced at a press conference.
It was announced after reports disclosed that the mutated coronavirus could pass to humans from animals.
Prime Minister also stated that the mutated virus caused a "risk to the effectiveness" of an upcoming COVID-19 vaccine.
This announcement was made after 12 people in the nation were infected with a type of novel coronavirus that had been detected on mink farms.
