US Labor Department Announced Disappointing Jobs Data for December 2019

The US Department of Labor has recently notified that hiring slowed in the country in December 2019, with just 145,000 jobs added by the employers. Moreover, the department also provided the following information:

  • The number of jobs added were less than the market expectations of 160,000 jobs.
  • Overall in 2019, the US economy added more than 2 million jobs.
  • Unemployment rate stayed at 3.5 per cent.
  • Wages improved modestly by 2.9 per cent from a year earlier.
