Nova Minerals appoints Colin Belshaw as head of new in-house technical advisory panel

  • Colin Belshaw has been conferred with a new role to lead Nova Minerals’ in-house technical advisory panel.
  • Mr Belshaw is a mining engineer with over four decades of experience in gold and copper mining.
  • The technical advisory panel has been formed to advise the Board on technical, geological and scientific matters related to the Estelle Gold Project.

Nova Minerals Limited (ASX:NVA|OTC: NVAAF|FSE: QM3) has appointed Mr Colin Belshaw as head of the in-house technical advisory panel. To assume his new role, Mr Belshaw has resigned from the role of Non-Executive Director to lead the panel.

The newly constituted technical panel has been set up to advise the management and Board on technical, geological and scientific matters related to the project. The panel will play a crucial role in the transition of Nova Minerals from exploration to the first production phase.

Commenting on the appointment, Mr Christopher Gerteisen, CEO of Nova Minerals said, “Mr Belshaw has played an important role in Nova’s journey over the past year and I’m pleased he has accepted this new role in the company”.

Mr Belshaw has a vast experience of over more than four decades in the gold and copper mines across geographies. During his tenure at the Board, the Mineral Resource of the flagship project grew almost triple from 3.3Moz to 9.6Moz.

Mr Belshaw will be joined by Chief Geologist Mr Dale Schultz and senior metallurgical & minerals processing engineer Mr Mike Hallewell. Mr Schultz has been associated with Nova for the past six years and has been instrumental in Company’s Mineral Resource growth. Mr Hallewell is an industry stalwart with over forty years of field experience.

Mr Gerteisen said, “The technical advisory panel will be a specialist resource made up of some of the best gold mining minds in the business,”. Furthermore, Mr Gerteisen, an experienced geologist, will also join the team.

“As a forward-looking company led by innovation, the panel will deliver additional ideas and insight to help guide our ongoing work programs and strategic investments, as well as drive further growth in reconciliation with our sustainability commitments,” he concluded.

The new in-house technical advisory team will help the Board to assess the technical details better which will lead to optimum decisions for the project advancement.
